Question: I am thinking of hiring a bookkeeper who knows QuickBooks Online, but I use QuickBooks Premier. Are they the same, only one is online?

Answer: No, QuickBooks Online and QB Premier are very different programs. They do not look alike at all and have very different functionalities.

When hiring a bookkeeper, make sure they have experience in the QB software that you have. Just knowing any QuickBooks is not sufficient. Also, our industry is so complex, so make sure that your bookkeeping candidate has experience with sales orders, purchase orders, invoices and sales tax within Premier at a minimum. A major added bonus would be if your candidate also has some industry experience, but that’s harder to find.
